The City of White Plains, NY is the seat of Westchester County and located in the center of the county. It is home to the Pace University Law School, the Westchester County Center, and a lot of other cultural and shopping outlets. Don’t try to park in the City of White Plains though, because the entire city is a towing zone!
Located at 77 South Lexington Avenue, White Plains, NY 1060, the White Plains City Court is a volume court and consequently meets every day, twice a day, for traffic tickets. The deal you will get can often be dependent upon the judge that is sitting, so our office tries and often succeeds in pitching around the bad judges so we can get your case on before the more lenient ones. Unless the speeding ticket was written by a trooper, your case is prosecuted by a Police Officer. If you were written a criminal ticket such as reckless driving, VTL § 1212 or aggravated unlicensed operation, VTL § 511, this is a much more serious matter and will be prosecuted by the Westchester County District Attorney.
If you were charged with a traffic crime (misdemeanor or felony) in White Plains City Court such as DUI, reckless driving, or a CDL violation under the transportation law such as a log book violation, NY T.L. § 140, then your case will not be prosecuted by the City prosecutor but the Westchester County District Attorney. The criminal conference and all purpose calendar is heard on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., Thursday at 2:00 p.m., and Friday at 9:30 a.m. Criminal trials generally commence at 2:00 p.m. on any day of the week.
The office of the Clerk of the White Plains Court is open from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. They accept walk in payments and pleas, however their register closes at 3:30 p.m. for cash and credit card payments. What Our Office Can Do For You
